Description:

ARCADIS is seeking a Full-Time Geologist for our Houston, Texas office to assist with subsurface investigation, remediation, and compliance oriented project work at a variety of sites. This position will support multiple clients, multiple types of industries, multiple regulatory jurisdictions, and an array of environmental issues; primarily investigation and remediation of soil and groundwater contaminated by hydrocarbons, metals, solvents, PCBs, and salts.


? Qualified candidates will be required to perform any combination of the following tasks.

? Plan, coordinate, and implement site characterization efforts, which may include: logging of soil borings, installation of groundwater monitoring wells, multi-media sampling, as well as data evaluation, interpretation, management, and presentation.

? Evaluate and develop investigation, remediation, and closure objectives in the context of contaminant fate and transport, natural attenuation mechanisms, and ecological/health risk assessments.

? Support the design of in-situ soil and groundwater treatment systems using both established and innovative technologies, including the following: soil vapor extraction, biosparging, bioventing, dual- or multi-phase extraction, oxygen injection, chemical oxidation, bioaugmentation, phytoremediation, permeable reactive barriers.

? Conduct remediation pilot studies and ensure collection of useful and representative data for purposes of remedial alternative feasibility evaluation and design.

Requirements:

Minimum years of experience: 4-6
Education/Registrations required: B.S. Environmental Science, Geology, or other technical science degree
Education/Registrations preferred: M.S. Environmental Science, Geology, or other technical science degree
Special considerations / requirements: 30 % Travel required. A valid drivers license and clean driving record is required for this position.
