Description:Reference #: 080721Duties and Responsibilities Direct and conduct activities to collect and analyze hydrologic data including stage/discharge measurements, reference elevation marks, high water marks, point of zero flow, channel and control section conditions, diversions, water use data, and other information as directed. Direct the maintenance of field instruments, including O&M and repairs for streamflow and precipitation monitoring stations, level sensors, data loggers, telecommunications equipment, and other equipment as directed. Collect and analyze hydrologic and hydraulic data for the operation and calibration of LCRA's Hydromet system of stream and rain gauging stations. Report findings both verbally and in writing to internal and external Hydromet customers. Travel to remote gauge sites to perform maintenance, repairs, and calibration activities. Develop and calibrate stage-discharge and index-velocity ratings for operations of LCRA's Hydromet system. This position will work outdoors in inclement weather conditions and will work weekends, holidays and non-standard hours during flood operations. Minimum Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Hydrology, Water Resources or other science-related field, or equivalent experience. Experience: Three years experience in performing hydrologic and hydraulic data collection and analysis. Substitution: If you do not meet the requirements listed above, then you must have seven (7) years experience in performing hydrologic and hydraulic data collection and analysis. Licenses: A valid driver's license is required. Other Information Prefer Texas State Board of Professional Geoscientist license. General knowledge of electronics, AC and DC electrical properties, remote data collection, instrument surveying, and application of acoustic instruments in hydrology is preferred.
