Monterrey is third largest city in Mexico and the capital city of the northeastern Mexican state of Nuevo León near Texas. The city is a modern industrial and business center. The metropolitan area of Monterrey has a population of 3.8 million. Monterrey Tech is one of the largest (over 100,000 students, 33 campuses) and leading private technological universities in Mexico and Latin America. The CAALCA is carrying out applied research, capacity building, knowledge dissemination and laboratory services. The mission of the center is to become the leading reference in water in sustainable water use and management in Latin America and the Caribbean. CAALCA is expanding and offers the vacancy to be filled tentatively in August 2010 or January 2011. The candidate is expected to entail lecturing (6 hours per week), research projects (sale, supervision and development), short courses and thesis supervision at graduate level. Our candidate will be: 1) motivated, active researchers who is willing to play a leading role in his research topic, 2) equipped with a PhD degree plus a proven track record of work/teaching experience and research in their research area (i.e. minimum 5 papers in indexed journals), 3) experienced in attracting research grants to sustain ongoing research, 4) dominating very well (written and spoken) Spanish or Portugues and English language, 5) interdisciplinary team player, 6) have work experience in Latin America.
