PWA is seeking a Coastal Engineer to join our San Francisco office. The successful candidate?s primary responsibilities will be to manage, and/or lead technical analyses for, a variety of coastal management projects addressing erosion, flooding, restoration, and planning issues. The position also includes staff supervision and mentoring.

Position Responsiblities
You will work closely with our existing team of hydrologists, geomorphologists, and restoration design engineers to carry out studies on shoreline management, flood mapping, beach restoration, tidal inlet analysis, and design of shore and wetland restoration. In any given week, you may be guiding technical analysis of coastal processes for a beach erosion management project; developing a plan for tidal lagoon restoration based on a study of tidal inlet evolution; or presenting results of wave analyses to stakeholders for a tidal wetland restoration project.

Requirements
You must have an MS or higher degree with a strong technical foundation in coastal and estuarine engineering, four or more years of consulting and project management experience, and a P.E. Training and/or experience with Pacific coastal systems and familiarity with the CA regulatory environment are desirable.

You must have excellent writing skills and the ability to work effectively on teams with a variety of stakeholders and other professionals. PWA works primarily in California, but has projects throughout the West and beyond; some travel is required. Current eligibility to work in the US is required.
