Senior Watershed Scientist/Stormwater Specialist
PWA is seeking a senior watershed scientist to join our San Francisco office. The successful candidate?s primary responsibilities will be to manage a wide range of stormwater management, rainfall-runoff analysis, and stream restoration projects, and expand our capabilities in these areas. Typical project elements include evaluating potential environmental impacts from urban runoff, predicting flood flows, and developing creative, environmentally-sensitive runoff management solutions. You will work closely with our existing team of hydrologists, geomorphologists, and restoration design engineers to conduct field investigations, develop computer models and interpret results, and develop stormwater management concepts and designs. In addition to conducting analyses and developing creative solutions, you will work closely with clients, stakeholders and regulatory agencies to facilitate project implementation. Requirements: You must have an MS or higher degree with a strong technical foundation in watershed science or engineering hydrology, and specialized experience in stormwater management. Training and/or experience in rainfall-runoff modeling, hydraulic modeling, stormwater management practices and regulation, and Low Impact Development are all desirable. Ideally, you will have prior project management experience in a consulting or government agency setting. You must have excellent writing skills and the ability to work effectively on teams with a variety of stakeholders. PWA works primarily in California, but has projects throughout the West and beyond; some travel is required. Current eligibility to work in the US is required.
